Terms of service

These terms cover your use of the PhotoID app and this website, both operated by Samji ICT.

This app helps you meet published photo specifications. It does not guarantee acceptance by any government or agency. Always verify current requirements with the official authority.

No guarantee of acceptance

This is the most important term here, so it comes first. The app formats your photo to a specification published by an issuing authority, and this website reproduces those specifications with a link to the source and the date we checked it. Neither the app nor the site can make a government accept your photo.

Acceptance is always the decision of the passport office, visa section, consulate or agency handling your application. They may apply criteria that are not published, may exercise discretion over borderline cases, and may change requirements without notice. Confirm the current requirements with the authority before you submit.

About the specification data

We record specifications only from official sources — the issuing authority’s own pages and documents — and we publish the source link and verification date alongside every figure. Where an authority does not publish a value, we leave it blank rather than estimating it. We do not use photo vendors, agency blogs or aggregator sites as sources.

Even so, requirements change, sources move, and errors are possible. If you find a specification on this site that disagrees with the authority’s current published requirement, please tell us at samji.ict@gmail.com and we will correct it.

Using the app

  • You may use the app to create photos of yourself and of people who have agreed to be photographed by you, including children in your care.
  • You may not use the app to create or alter images intended to misrepresent someone’s identity.
  • You are responsible for the content of the photos you process and export.
  • You may not attempt to extract, redistribute or resell the specification dataset as a dataset.

Payments, subscriptions and refunds

Making and previewing a photo is free. Payment is required to export a full-resolution file without a watermark, either as a single purchase or as a subscription. All payments are processed by Apple or Google through their own in-app purchase systems; we never handle your payment details.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you cancel them through your App Store or Google Play account rather than through us. Refunds are governed by the policy of the store you purchased through. The app provides a restore-purchases function so that entitlements you have already paid for can be recovered on a new device.

Advertising

The free tier is supported by advertising. You may also choose to watch a rewarded video to unlock a single export without paying. Paid tiers remove advertising.

Availability

We provide the app and this website as they are, without a warranty that they will be available uninterrupted or free of defects. We may add, change or withdraw features, including support for particular countries, as specifications change or as we can no longer verify them against an official source.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Samji ICT is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app or this website — including costs arising from a rejected application, a missed deadline, or travel that could not be taken. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here affects statutory consumer rights you may have where you live.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Where you use the app as a consumer in another country, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your place of residence.

Changes to these terms

We will update this page and change the date at the top when these terms change. See also our privacy policy, which covers how your photos and data are handled.
